New Baloch National Front raises morale for an independent Balochistan

Image
Timed with precision, Baloch nationalists launched two spectacular and unprecedented attacks on Pakistani military camps separated from each other by over 400 kilometres. The impressively coordinated strikes took place when the beleaguered Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was in Beijing to unlock funding for the stalled China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. The attacks immediately demolished Khan’s sales pitch to woo the Chinese to revive CPEC funding. Far from believing the Pakistani Prime Minister that Balochistan, through which most of the CPEC passes has been secured and will be stable, it is obvious that Beijing’s confidence in Islamabad’s capacity to secure the corridor would have been severely dented after the bold attacks on the Nushki and Panjgur camps. Clearly, Balochistan is on the boil, and the Chinese know it. Already Beijing has been rattled by the killing of their nine engineers, working at the site of the Dasu power project,  during a pivotal attack in Ju

The well-coordinated twin- strikes by Baloch rebels on Thursday marked one of the most daring attacks on the Pakistani military in recent years. In these sophisticated attacks on two Pakistani military camps, Baloch rebels used US made weapons, worrying the Pakistani military establishment no end. Citing intelligence reports, the Pakistani Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid told media that, “Baloch militants are not capable of launching major attacks in Nushki and Panjgur. TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan) has the capability, experience and latest NATO weapons to launch such attacks. There's some understanding between the TTP and Baloch militants. They have their hideouts in Afghanistan.” And  for the first time TTP  agreed with the Pakistan government. The spokesperson of the banned militant organisation, Mohammad Khorasani  congratulated the Baloch rebel groups for their audacious attacks on the “enemy” forces. “The Pakistani army is carrying out the massacre in Balochistan. Gilgit-Baltistan erupts in protests over Pakistani atrocities

Kidnappings, murders and forced disappearances of activists don’t make news headlines in Pakistan anymore. Neither are the daily protests which are organized all over the country, from Balochistan to Gilgit-Baltistan. But the strong-willed locals of Aliabad town in the Hunza Valley of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) are in no mood to give up this time. Balochistan News Icy winds, rain and temperature which has already touched 1 degree Celsius at night hasn’t deterred them to hold one of the biggest, longest, protests ever held against Pakistan in the region’s history. Demanding the release of 14 local men, also known as GB14, who’ve been jailed by the Pakistani government for nearly a decade now, protestors’ chants of “free 14 sons of Hunza” and “free Baba Jan” have been reverberating throughout the valley which has been in ‘illegal and forcible occupation’ of Pakistan for decades. Baba Jan and his comrades like Iftikhar Karbalai have been languishing in jails because they stood up f

Balochistan, Sindhi nationalists unite to oppose Pak, China and CPEC

The closer Pakistan slides to China, the further Balochistan News inches away from Pakistan. Surging Baloch nationalism has found a new partner—a pro-freedom organization in Sindh, which also plans to oppose the   China-Pakistan Economic Corridor   (CPEC) a mammoth $62-billion infrastructure project. Balochistan already has the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), Baloch Republican Army (BRA) and the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) which have been fighting for independence from Pakistan. Now these four have joined hands with the Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) to form the Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS), with the aim of opposing the CPEC, which they say is exploiting the local people to benefit the Punjab-dominated areas. Baloch Khan, BRAS spokesperson, said the organizations had held a session at an undisclosed location where they formed the strategy to liberate Balochistan and Sindh from Pakistan. The pro-freedom organizations also said that the peop
